I still remember those never-ending car rides when I was seven where my parents would only play Simon and Garfunkel and Carly Simon. And even before the car rides, five year old me would screech "Part of Your World" around the house while twirling my favorite teddy bear, Mr. Ritz . As I grew up, The Beatles lead the path towards my present music taste and now you can probably find me jamming out to Vampire Weekend and Phoenix. With alternative music, I find a certain depth and conceptual understanding of how influential certain lyrics and songs can be to a person. I personally became attached to the band Vampire Weekend because of their witty and intellectual lyrics as so with other alternative bands like Two Door Cinema Club and The Vaccines. And just in general, alternative bands and artists make some pretty rad beats to dance around to while you're alone in your room. Now with the prospect of summer and senior year looming ahead, the music i play unbearably loud everywhere I go will reflect my feelings toward those specific situations. I made a lil mix to sum up my summer jams and just some sick bands/artists that everyone should give a listen to.
