At first, I was skeptical of the concept of this movie. Reliving the day over and over again is a common plot for filler episodes in television series, and for a 45 minute episode, it works sometimes. I couldn't imagine anything beyond that time period being entertaining. However, Edge of Tomorrow kept an amazing pace throughout the movie. Writers made sure that there weren't too many stalemates between action scenes, and bits of comedy were thrown in surprising places. The romance between the main characters was also very well done as compared to other sci-fi movies in which it's obvious that romances were thrown into the script last minute.
On the technical aspect, Edge of Tomorrow had beautiful cinematography. Editing and CGI were very well done, and I was very impressed with the suits that the soldiers wore. In the sci-fi/action genre future technology is usually streamlined and thinned down so much that it's difficult to picture a world in which the tech would be viable. But these suits on the other hand were big and clunky enough that they looked almost real.
Over all, even if you don't like action/ sci-fi movies, you'd probably find this film enjoyable. It had something for everyone, and I look forward to it being nominated for an Oscar or two in the near future.
